Shigeru Miyamoto and Chris Meledandri of Illumination thank fans for seeing the Mario movie

The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been a success by pretty much every single measure. The vast majority of fans absolutely adore the film, and the global box office haul has made the movie the second biggest animated film of all-time. That’s an incredible success by any measure, and both Nintendo and Illumination wanted to thank fans for their support.

The video above features none other than Shigeru Miyamoto, who shares a special message with fans to share his appreciation for heading to theaters to support the film. Miyamoto is also joined by Chris Meledandri of Illumination, and he has been equally blown away by just how much love fans have sent the film’s way.

There’s no doubt this duo will continue to create animated features as the years roll on, and we can’t wait to see what they do. Let’s hope all of their projects end up being just as successful!
