Nintendo held their The 83rd Annual General Meeting of Shareholders a few days back, and as you expect, those shareholders had a wide range of questions they lobbed at Nintendo.

One person discussed the unfortunate situation with scalpers, as Nintendo has struggled with them quite a bit on Switch. Nintendo was asked if they planned to address the scalper situation with their next platform, and Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa made it clear that there are plans to combat those efforts. (h/t VGC)

“With regard to resale measures when launching new hardware, we recognize that the most important thing is to first produce and ship in numbers that can meet customer demand. We will then consider whether there are any other possible measures that can be taken.”

[Shuntaro Furukawa]

UPDATE: You can now see the official question and answer in English, as Nintendo has released their translation of the Shareholders Q&A.

Limit purchases to verified Nintendo account holders.
I’m only half joking. Didn’t Sony do that with PS5 pre-orders initially?
