We reported almost exactly one year ago that Nintendo is launching a new repair service in Japan called ‘Wide Care’ where users could pay a monthly fee (≈ $1.5 USD) or annual fee (≈ $15 USD) to have their Switch repaired for any reason, including accidental damage, water damage, and manufacturing defects.

Well, Nintendo has announced that it will be ending its Wide Care service in Japan on August 31, 2023. Nintendo has not given a reason for ending Wide Care, but it is possible that the service was not as popular as the company had hoped.
